About Studio Ri
Studio Ri Interiors [pronounced ree] is an independent residential interior design studio based in Perth working with clients Australia-wide.
理 — "Ri" in Japanese speaks to reason, logic, principle, and the underlying order of things. Studio Ri is deeply rooted in the belief that there is quiet logic and highly detailed reasoning behind beautiful and functional designs.
At Studio Ri, we believe that the depth and quality of the design process directly shapes the built outcome. We specialise in providing design-focused services that craft a vision for your spaces through spatial strategy, bespoke joinery design, intentional electrical and layered lighting plans, thoughtful curation of colour, material, & furniture, technical drafting and documentation, and 3D visualisation—giving you a well-planned and fully understood interior design direction that your builder, contractor, or tradesperson can implement.
Behind Studio Ri
Thank you for stopping by. I'm Marie, founder and interior designer behind Studio Ri. I’m drawn to interior design because it brings creativity and technical problem-solving together to create tangible solutions for everyday life.
Through lived experiences across several personal home-building journeys around Australia and living in homes across the globe—from poorly planned to thoughtfully designed—I've learnt that the homes that feel and function best are never accidental. They are the result of many thoughtful design decisions that shape the built outcome.
Although I've already been working with clients preparing to build their homes, earning a formal qualification through a Diploma in Interior Design has given me the foundation to go beyond instinctive design and evolve each concept into technically informed and documented buildable outcomes that honour both beauty and function.
Before Studio Ri, I had worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 15 years across various healthcare disciplines, shaping my appreciation for spaces that genuinely support comfort, function, health and wellbeing.
Beyond Studio Ri, I am a blessed wife to an amazing human who supports me in everything I do and I'm also the doting human mumma of our much-loved cavoodle. I hope to have the privilege of working with you on your home.
